We offer Full / Part / Assisted DIY
and Retirement Livery
We will soon have two rare vacancies coming up for full or part livery
Welcome to Little Dunks Livery Yard, a home where you will feel truly happy to stable your horse or pony.
Once you come to Little Dunks and the team you will wonder why you hadn't discovered us sooner. We pride ourselves on our attitude and work ethics, with horses and ponies always coming first.
Whilst we are not a "working livery yard" we are a yard where our focus is on enjoying ourselves whether around our horses, a cup of tea or sitting around the table, in the sun, enjoying homemade cakes!
The current liveries, of which there is a good mix of horses and ponies, regularly attend Dressage competitions, One Day Events, Show Jumping and Showing classes. There is a genuine feeling of support for one another at our yard which is, we believe, unique to Little Dunks. Whether it's a 1st or a Special rosette, we are all proud of and pleased for another.
We have a mix of experienced owners and first time owners and regularly share our experiences and knowledge, there is always something to learn for all of us. We think getting "out and about" is what makes up for those long winter days in the cold and rain so whenever there is the opportunity we'll load up, be it for competition or hacking somewhere new.
Location and facilities
We are located 10 minutes south of Royal Tunbridge Wells, between the villages of Brenchley and Lamberhurst, just off the A21. We are very lucky to have Bedgebury Forest and Bewl Water just 15 minutes drive away.
There is clear round jumping, cross country and regular dressage clinics at a local yard just 10 minutes away. There are local gallops for hire in nearby Pembury yet also 1 hour away, there is the incredible Camber Sands for those of you who really want a blast.
There is safe off-road hacking around the farm, with a few cross country jumps. We also have further hacking in local orchards and there are several local Trot rides between our yard and Brenchley village.
We have a total of 15 stables. We have a 20 x 40m outdoor school, with low level lights for those winter evenings. In the school there is a selection of jumps which, if ground permitting, can be moved into a grass arena for a change of going. We have a large sand filled round pen for brushing up on groundwork skills or simply an extra for lunging. We are also pleased to offer ample storage for our liveries and also free trailer/lorry parking.
We have a total of 46 acres where we turn out our horses and ponies in small groups, giving consideration to any particular needs and requirements. Individual turnout is also available. We ensure that mares and geldings graze separately to create a stress free and relaxed atmosphere. All of our turn-out fields have good quality electric fencing and for our Retirement liveries all winter fields have a hard standing area with shelters.
We offer fantastic grazing which is carefully and thoughtfully managed and maintained to ensure quality grazing year on year.
